If you have school age children you might like the fact that your Carmel Northwest home is close to the renowned private Stevenson High School located in Northwest Carmel on 24800 Dolores Street. An additional campus is located in Pebble Beach. Stevenson is home to 520 students at the Pebble Beach Campus (equally divided between resident and day, boys and girls) and 200 students at the Carmel Campus which is in close proximity to your northwest Carmel home.
Also in close proximity to Carmel Northwest homes are two parks. Forest Hill Park located off Camino Del Monte, provides a children’s play area, shuffleboard court, horseshoe pits and tennis courts. First Murphy Park located at Lincoln St. at 6th Ave., is used for resting in the native plant garden, walking along the paths and enjoying a spectacular view of Carmel Bay. The park is popular with Carmel home owners as well as visitors.
Also in the park you will find the First Murphy House, built in 1902 by the then 17-year old Michael Murphy, who went on to become one of the greatest builder of Carmel homes — more than 300 Carmel homes and many commercial buildings. Another spot beloved by Northwest Carmel home owners is the town’s main library, located in the northwest section of town at Ocean Avenue and Lincoln Street. The Harrison Memorial Library provides a welcoming ambiance with a cozy fireplace & big comfortable chairs. And then there is the Carmel Art Association Gallery founded in 1927 and located on Dolores Street between 5th & 6th Avenue, not far from your Carmel Northwest home. This is Carmel’s oldest gallery and it features work by local artists.
